WIFI Router Assistance

hey everyone, new here a quick question:

back in 2023 my ISP tech set up my router and changed the admin (gateway) username and password. i don’t have those credentials and the tech now says he won’t be able to send someone to reset it for a few weeks. is there any way to access the router’s settings without the admin username and password and without factory-resetting the router?

i own the router and just want to change some settings (port forwarding/wifi password etc.). any safe/legal suggestions would be appreciated since i don’t want to mess anything up. thanks!
