So I know at one point cyberlibertarianism was a portion of the hacker community (albeit never the majority, just not incredibly uncommon). Today, not a lot of hackers follow that trend in my experience. The hackers I know and that I see in podcasts tend to consistently be progressive. 2600 community, Anonymous, etc. all tend to be progressive. Or they are "left-wing anarchists", "left-libertarian", or something similar.
Can someone explain the reason for this?
