To me it doesn't add up. A peripheral would not be able to execute code directly no? The OS reads the data from the peripheral, and if that data doesn't match that peripheral's spec, it ignores it. My only guess would be some sort of exploit that if you send a specific sequence of bytes across the com port it may start a terminal or something of the sorts. But that would be a huge flaw on the OS and I don't think that is the case. Can someone help me understand how/if this is even possible? [link] [comments] |
