PDFs can have viruses right? how large would a PDF be if it had one? Larger than 250kb?

I got sent a job offer that is a little sus. I was trying to figure out a way to scan it but downloaded and opened it like an idiot. Wondering if I have a way to sus this out or if I should just format my computer.

This is a Mac BTW.
