hacking CCTV

question has been asked before but i can't find satisfying answers in the comments (tbf the posts were vague as well).

I'm looking into CCTV hacking as a complete noobie. how do i go at this? i understand that it depends on the company, software, whether it uses wifi or is fully wired..., but like i said I'm a complete noobie, so how do i find these out, and after i do, how to i use that info? any basics i need to study before attempting such a project?
