When is it a good idea to disable 2FA?

Speaking for myself here, but the whole point of using 2FA is to secure whatever devices you have, although, let’s say that one gets a new phone as well as a phone number. Now, since 2FA is tied to whatever email/number you’ve setup, but now you’re trying to access it from a different number, what are the chances of you getting locked out of your devices/accounts?

Let’s see what you guys have to say about it.
