LogoFAIL - Can it Effect Virtualized Systems?

I'm reaching out to this brilliant community hoping you can help me answer a question. Some of you may have heard of LogoFAIL, a new software-less malware that attacks the UEFI/BIOS in the form of a logo/image.

Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction to determine if virtualized systems (Such as ESXi, Hyper-V guests) are vulnerable to this exploit?
It's apparent that they both have UEFI logos for their respective brand, but it's unclear if this image (bitmap | .bmp) can be modified for malicious intent.

Any help or guidance is incredibly appreciated!
