USB-B to SD card adapter?

I was unsure where to post this. When the RPI4B didnt have usb boot and I was running multiple OS' at the time. I was wondering why nobody sold a USB-B to SD adapter (I know youd be still limited to the maximum speed of the SD reader). I figured having a USB to SD OTG style adapter would be handy for other applications, not just for quickly swapping OS for when the RPI4B didnt have USB boot. So the questions are, is it possible to reverse these data lines? Could you, and how would you connect the 5V USB line to the 3.3V power line for the SD card? If all of the above is possible, could this also be used to reach the bottleneck speed of the SD reader in the device you are using? Lastly, if this type of adapter was avaliable could you see a use for it?

As you can tell Im terrible with wiring electronics, though would appreciate any info, tips, and opinions on this subject.
