Old phone with password which I don't have

Hello guys, I hope you are having a great week.

I'm seeking for help, the situation is that I got an old phone from my mum (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) and it has a password. My mother forgot the 4 digit code, and I would like to know if there is a way to crack it.

I don't mind losing information, I just want it to work. I have tried turning it off in order to reset it, but it requires the password which I don't have.

Any help or advice offered would be great. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I ended up finding that if you restart it, the system won't ask you for a password. Next, you have to press the combination of buttons that will open the boot menu, in the perfect time it will sort of take it like you actually turned off the phone and just made it the correct way. Guys, there is a solution.
