Public/shared WiFi(hotel etc) and login with fingerprint

I am currently in a hotel and have bad 4g connection. I almost never connect to the hotels' WIFI because I have unlimited plan but I was thinking about this: I know that it's better not to login to sensible account when connected to a shared network since a capable hacker could sniff sensible data and maybe my passwords. Is logging in via fingerprint any better? What can a hacker do in respect to that? Is anybody expert on this matter? I always wondered what the difference is between a password and finger print/faceID.

Any input or resource to read appreciated!
