Can a 125 kHZ RFID reader differentiate between different types of 125 kHZ tags for entrance access?

I'm wondering if 125 kHz RFID tags can be differentiated by the RFID reader, or does it ONLY read the UID? I'm not an expert but I know that there are different types of tags such as the read-only EM4100 and writeable EM4305. Again, I'm not an expert and I actually don't know if these are classified as different types. However, I do know that 13.56 MHz tags come in different forms such as Mifare Classic 1k and 4k etc. and that they are detectable by a 13.56 MHz reader.
