Please redirect if there's another sub more appropriate. I'm debating getting a ledger (probably will regardless) but I feel like the only threat to my wallet I don't understand is related to past crypto "hacks" which involves the victim signing a smart contract that gives the author the right to spend their crypto without realizing it.
I've signed these for a couple sites so how do these people actually spend or withdraw your crypto? Wouldn't they need my password to transfer funds from metamask? Even a link explaining this would be very appreciated for some piece of mind that I'm not compromising my account.
