I've heard alot about SMS or phone number spoofing (during phone calls), and have tried researching it, but I can't seem to figure out any information on how they work besides "this third-party service does it for you".
I know that SMS messages are handled the same way email is (through an SMTP server), but that's as far as I've come. Same with spoofing a caller ID. Is it really just something simple but because of payment and the like requires some type of service to be setup?
Sorry if the post seems relatively short and (probably) newbie. Just have a real bad itch of curiosity.
