When sending a deauther packet using a phone and a ESP8266, where are the packets sent from? The phone or the ESP?

I’m not sure how these components work. I should prob get a knowledge on how these packets are sent. Also, I heard you can get tracker down, how exactly is it tracked? Like do they just know the device? And is the phone and the ESP both tracked?
