Is it worth looking into an even deeper level beyond transistors?

I didn't know where to start with hacking, even after reading the posts on this sub. So I figured I might as well try to understand how a computer even works when it comes to hardware and what it is made of.

Would you guys say that transistors followed by logic gates etc. are the deepest level of understanding you need, or is there an even deeper level of knowledge about how computers are build tht is worth looking into?
