I'm posting on behalf of my friend who is suffering from cyberstalking after pissing someone off in Overwatch. The "symptoms" are really far out, I've never heard of anything like it. Essentially they have been able to take over the browser and type messages in the dropdown results while he types in the address bar. He reports that it's affected every browser with the exception of Tor. He also says that the hacker has been able to contact him on his PC, macbook, and iPhone. He says that he's tried anti-virus software, changing the password on his router, and even reinstalling his PC to no avail. Somehow the problem and hacker persist and continue to harass a few times a week.
Anyone heard of this kind of browser hijacking? I'm not personally familiar with blackhat tactics so I'm not clear if this is even possible. I've been trying to eliminate the possibility that this is some kind of user error and that he's essentially having some kind of conversation with his autocomplete. Anyway, any leads and suggestions to help are appreciated!
