Dear friends I'm writing to you from Greece, The Greek Right-wing Government has tabled an authoritarian bill during the pandemic about the Greek Universities! Some of the key points of the bill are:
1)creation of permanent campus police forces inside the universities. Those forces will be held accountable to the civil protection ministry.
2)Surveillance systems (CCTV) at outdoors and indoor areas of the universities. All these data will be sent at a police checkpoint center.
3)Deletions, disciplinary and criminal prosecutions of students, teachers and other members. The entire Greek university community opposes the bill, as it violates freedom of expression, human rights and reinforces repression! Dear Co-student, democratic people, we call you for your solidarity, help us stop this bill, we are doing our best during this pandemic, but we need your international solidarity! Stand with us, raise a banner, write something! Our generation must make clear that the golden age of authoritarianism is oven!
