Can't get Monitor Mode working with an ASUS USB-AC68 adapter

As the title says, recently bought the ASUS AC1900 USB-AC68 Wi-Fi Adapter after multiple websites have noted that this adapter supports Monitor Mode and Packet Injection.

I installed the device driver from the ASUS website for windows, and when I run Wireshark it gives me no option to enable Monitor Mode.

I then installed the device drivers on my Kali Linux VMware Virtual Machine and I'm still having issues with it recognizing monitoring mode.. any suggestions or thoughts?
